Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, operates on China Standard Time (CST), which is UTC+8. Since China does not observe daylight saving time, this time zone remains consistent throughout the entire year across the whole country. This means Chengdu shares the same local time as other major Chinese cities like Beijing and Shanghai. For international travelers, this typically results in a significant time difference, such as being 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST) in the United States during the winter months. As of Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the current time in Chengdu is 7:47 PM.
