Chengdu Yiwo Tech Development Co., Ltd., better known by its brand name EaseUS, is a legitimate and established software company founded in 2004 that specializes in data recovery, backup, and disk management tools. The software itself is generally considered safe and free from malware, with millions of users and recognition from major tech publications like CNET and TechRadar. However, the company has a controversial reputation regarding its business practices, particularly its aggressive subscription-based marketing and restrictive refund policies. Many users on platforms like Reddit have reported being charged for unauthorized recurring subscriptions or having significant difficulty obtaining refunds when the software failed to recover their specific data. While the application is technically safe to install and use for its intended purposes, users are advised to be cautious during the checkout process and to thoroughly read the terms of service to avoid unwanted charges.
