Yes, Chengdu 46 is permanently closed. A local icon for Sichuan food in Clifton, New Jersey, for 20 years, the restaurant went out of business and was subsequently replaced by Chef Yang 46 in 2019. The new owners, Dinggen Wang and Jiaging Yang, renovated the interior and updated the menu to reinvigorate the location at 1105 Route 46 East. While Chengdu 46 is no longer operational, the site continues to serve authentic Sichuan cuisine under the new management and name.
