Jeo Baby's “Kaathal - The Core” offers a sensitive portrait of marriage, desire and self-acceptance. Mammootty delivers a subtle tour-de-force performance as Mathew, a retired bank employee grappling with his sexual identity. His internal conflict is masterfully conveyed through furtive glances and lingering silences. Jyotika is equally terrific as his wife Omana.
The home just doesn't feel the same without her in it. Everything feels off, out of place. I know she'll be back before too long, but right now it feels like forever. Her presence fills this place with life, joy, and comfort in a way nothing else can. Home is where the heart is; with her away, my heart feels a little lost.
