where is chengdu airport

Chengdu is served by two major international airports located in different directions from the city center. Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is the older hub, situated approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) southwest of downtown Chengdu in the Shuangliu District. It is conveniently connected to the city via Metro Lines 10 and 19, as well as several airport expressway routes. The newer and larger hub, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU), is located significantly further away, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) southeast of the city center in Lujia Town, Jianyang. Tianfu is linked to central Chengdu by the high-speed Metro Line 18, which offers an express journey of about 33 to 40 minutes to the South Railway Station. While Shuangliu now primarily handles domestic and regional flights, Tianfu serves as the primary gateway for the majority of international and long-haul domestic routes.
