when was the bullet train chengdu to changsha built

The development of high-speed rail connectivity between Chengdu and Changsha has evolved through the integration of several major railway projects rather than a single direct line. While high-speed services between the two provincial capitals have been operating for years, typically taking 7 to 8 hours via existing corridors, a significant advancement occurred on June 27, 2025, with the launch of a new high-speed route connecting Chengdu, Chongqing, and Zhangjiajie. This expansion was facilitated by the completion of the Chongqing East to Qianjiang section of the Yuxia High-Speed Railway, which allows trains to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h. This new infrastructure has effectively reduced travel times, enabling passengers to travel from Chengdu to Changsha in under 5 hours. Additional high-speed and overnight sleeper services were further expanded on July 1, 2025, to meet surging demand and better link key western cities with central hubs like Changsha.
