At the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, pandas are most active and typically begin their morning feeding shortly after the park opens at 7:30 AM. Official feeding times generally occur between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, which is considered the best window to observe them eating fresh bamboo, climbing, and playing before they become sleepy in the late morning. While a second, shorter feeding session often takes place in the afternoon around 2:00 PM, pandas are notoriously less active during this time, especially in the summer when high temperatures drive them to rest in indoor enclosures. Therefore, arriving between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM is highly recommended to witness the pandas' primary breakfast and peak daily activity.
