As of Thursday, May 21, 2026, the current time in Chengdu, Sichuan, is 2:25 PM. The city operates on China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 year-round, as China does not observe daylight saving time. This single time zone applies to the entire country, meaning Chengdu shares the same local time as other major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. This uniformity across the country is convenient for travelers, though it can result in significantly later sunrises and sunsets in western cities like Chengdu compared to those on the eastern coast due to its geographical location.
