Chengdu operates on China Standard Time (CST), which is UTC+8, the single time zone used throughout the entire People's Republic of China. Since China does not observe daylight saving time, Chengdu remains eight hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time year-round. Given that it is currently 3:25 PM JST (UTC+9) on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the local time in Chengdu is 2:25 PM. Because of its relatively western location within the country, Chengdu experiences a later solar noon compared to coastal cities like Shanghai, yet it strictly adheres to the same national clock time for administrative and social synchronization.
