The Chengdu J-20's capacity depends on the specific variant of the aircraft. The standard production models, including the J-20A and J-20B, are designed as single-seat air superiority fighters and hold only one pilot. However, China has recently introduced a twin-seat variant known as the J-20S (or J-20B/AS in some reports), which is designed to hold two people. This version, which is the world's first two-seat stealth fighter, includes a second cockpit for an additional crew member to assist with complex tasks such as electronic warfare, tactical bombing, or the command and control of accompanying drone swarms in a "loyal wingman" capacity.
